News on my dear mother (Aunty Maureen) as most of you knows she had a fall a few weeks ago and end up in hospital. In the fall she only did a little bit of damage to herself a broken arm fractured hip and pelvis. After about four weeks in hospital she has finely made it to rehab. Where she will embark on physio to get her back on track and hopefully home soon? She would like to be home now. A big THANK YOU to everyone who has sent messages, called in, phoned etc.

Pete and Regina in Upton (print post)
By Lucy Buykx on 21 September 2005No Comments Yet
I booked myself a weekend in Norfolk to visit my folks and then suddenly everyone wanted to come. We had a marvellous few days with cousin Peter, Regina and Nick. Far too much was eaten, only a little less was drunk, including the mandatory trip to the Pink Pony. Theres some pics that I havent loaded yet - probably update this blog later this evening.Pete and Reg are absolute stars. Before they left Melbourne they visited with Ineke and picked up 4 of our bottles of wine, packed them in suitcases and brought them over for us. What fabulous people! The bottles have been laid down to rest for a couple of years, with large “hands off†labels! I think we’ll be alright, if you know my parents home, you know that things can be safely lost for decades let alone years ;-)
P.S. if anyone else is coming over to UK from Melbourne or vicinity, theres another 6 bottles ready for export- think of it as guaranteeing more space in your baggage on the way back ;-)
THANK YOU PETE AND REG AND NICK !!!!

Warburton with G and B (print post)
By Lucy Buykx on 21 February 2005No Comments Yet
Another weekend away in the Melbournite hinterland; this time with cousins Gerard and Brendon. But first, Libertus and I stayed and talked half the night with Maureen on Friday night. No pavlova but the brandy cake made up for it!With no van we relied on G for driving over the weekend. (Nobody can be bothered to say his whole name here, he’s either G or Gene, makes it easy for typing anyway!) We shared a basic cabin at the campsite, bunk beds, kitchen facilities, veranda etc but 100m walk to the toilets and showers. Not so much a problem for the lads in the evening but a pain in the proverbial for me. (more…)Traralgon (print post)

With the van out of commission, we took the train out to Traralgon to meet up with Chook (Bernadette) and her family. The area has 3 major power stations producing nearly all the power for Victoria and even selling some to NSW. Wayne works at one of them, leaving very early am. Never the less, we all stayed up past midnight, and Wayne and Libertus until 2am drinking wine and talking.Despite having only met Chook on a couple of family occasions, it was almost like we had known each other for ever; rather like meeting up with Cathy for the first time. It wont surprise anyone that there are a number of similarities between them! Its a shame it couldnt be for longer, but then, I dont think it will take long to catch up next time!
