  In this the great age of the internet, broadband and the global family, it seemed only right and proper that. I get some piccies of our little man up and out. I must say we have been shamed into action a little by Pete and his postings regarding Louisa, but nonetheless, we are very happy and very proud to be able to introduce our little man to the wider family - and anyone else that happens to look in on this blog.

  William Alexander Buykx was born on the 9th of January at the Bendigo Hospital. He weighed in at 3.94 KG (near 8lbs 11oz) and was 53 cms long. The most common heard comment date has been “Gee…. he’s long!”. Yes he is. Not tall. Long. He will graduate to tall when he can hold himself vertical. That won’t be for a while yet!

• Tim and Pennys wedding at Rupertswood (print post)

  The wedding true was in a small Catholic church in a small village. There was no starch in the priest, or in the readings that included the marriage piece from The Prophet.

  The reception was held in Rupertswood, a mansion that could be mistaken for an English stately home. That was the intention to building it and they did a very good job. It is also the original source of the ashes - in 185? Was the cricket match after which the stumps were burned and a pot of ashes given to the English. The site also contains a Catholic boarding school which Robert (brother of Tim) attended for a number of years. He joked that the mashed potatoes and rice pudding stains had been convincingly cleaned off the walls since then. Somehow I don’t think they would have allowed a bunch of schoolboys, however well behaved, to eat in the grand hall we had the wedding breakfast in ;-p
